Bluffton Police and Lowcountry Community Church Team Up to Support Over 250 Local Educators with Free School Supplies
More than 250 teachers and school staff from across the Lowcountry region were honored at the annual School Staff Appreciation Brunch hosted by Lowcountry Community Church. The event, held at LCC's Bluffton campus, aimed to celebrate the vital role educators play in shaping young minds while equipping them with essential classroom supplies.
This year’s celebration included a school-themed brunch, a tote-bag decorating station, and a generous distribution of brand-new school supplies. Thanks to the compassionate contributions of the Bluffton community and a strong partnership with the Bluffton Police Department (BPD), each educator left with a fully stocked bag. Collection bins placed at BPD locations throughout the town made it easy for residents to donate, leading to an overwhelming response of generosity.
The event was not only practical but deeply personal. Educators received words of encouragement and a time of prayer, reminding them they are seen, valued, and supported. “We know that teachers pour their hearts into their classrooms every single day, often spending their own money to support the essential needs of their students,” said Liz Lucarini, Outreach Director at LCC. “This brunch is one small way to say, ‘We see you. We value you. And we’re so thankful for the difference you’re making.’”
One educator from Beaufort County shared, “To know that we have the support of our community means so much. We care deeply about our students’ success, and it’s easy to feel like we’re doing it alone. But today reminded us we’re not.”
As a cornerstone of summer outreach in Bluffton, this event continues to reflect LCC’s mission to affirm and uplift local heroes—from teachers to first responders—through intentional acts of service. LCC’s dedication to community service in Bluffton, Hilton Head, and greater Beaufort and Jasper Counties underscores a broader vision: to share God’s love in practical, transformative ways.
