Lowco Kids: God's Truth Through STEAM (K-5th grade)

  • Lowcountry Community Church (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Parents, your kids are invited to explore God's truth through STEAM! Kindergarteners through 5th graders will explore science, technology, engineering, and math while learning how evidence can point us toward truth.

Inspired by Lee Strobel’s The Case for Christ, students will become “investigators,” asking questions, examining evidence, solving challenges, and discovering how faith and reason can work together.

Through hands-on experiments and engaging activities, kids will learn that asking questions about God is encouraged—and that there is evidence to support what we believe. Each week includes a Bible focus, a STEAM concept, and a hands-on activity or project.

Meets every Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm, September 17–October 22

Communion/Prayer Sunday

Communion/Prayer Sunday

Communion is a sacred time of remembering what Christ did for us on the cross. (Romans 5:8)

When we break the bread, it is a symbolic representation of when Jesus’ body was broken for us. As we receive the bread, we thank Jesus for allowing His body to be broken for us. (Matthew 26:26)

When we drink the juice, we are symbolizing Jesus’ shed blood, which, according to the Bible, washed away our sins. As we drink, we thank Jesus for allowing us to be forgiven and made new through His sacrifice. (Matthew 26:27-28)

Each time we receive communion, we practice the value of serving with a Church Family Emergency Fund called a Benevolence Offering. 100% of the money given to this fund provides financial help to LCC families going through an unplanned, unexpected crisis. You can give to this fund online or at the giving kiosks on Communion Sunday.

We know that needs aren’t always financial. If you’re struggling and need prayer, there is a special time of prayer available in the Venue after each Communion service. There will be staff and elders there waiting to pray for you.

Co-Groups are designed to help students take their faith seriously. In this committed discipleship environment, students are invited to grow in their relationship with God and take meaningful next steps in following Jesus.

Throughout the Co-Group season (spring and fall each year), students spend intentional time outside of group studying with Scripture and reflecting on what they are learning. That preparation helps students get more out of each meeting and creates space for deeper conversation and real spiritual growth.

At the end of the season, students are celebrated for the commitment they have made. The Co-Group graduation celebration marks an important milestone, honoring the consistency and intentional steps each student has taken in their faith journey.
