A Growing Town. A Greater Mission.

If you've lived in Bluffton, South Carolina, for more than a few years, you know just how much our town has changed. What was once a quiet Lowcountry community with no Promenade, no Walmart, and just a couple of grocery stores is now one of the fastest-growing towns in South Carolina.

In 1995, Bluffton had fewer than 1,300 residents. Today, we’re approaching 40,000, and projections suggest our town could reach 65,000 by 2040. People are moving to Bluffton every day—from Charleston, Atlanta, New York, and beyond…seeking a slower pace, warmer weather, and a better life. But many are also searching for something deeper: belonging, purpose, and hope.

According to recent data from Pew Research, 65% of people in Beaufort and Jasper Counties don’t have a regular connection to a local church. That means your neighbor, your child’s teacher, the cashier at Publix, or the family who just moved in next door may not have a church home—or even know Jesus.

Lowcountry Community Church: Reaching Our Neighbors

At Lowcountry Community Church, our mission is to help people know and follow Jesus—not just on Sundays, but in every part of life. As Bluffton grows, we believe God is giving us a greater opportunity to live out our purpose and love our neighbors intentionally. And that mission starts with something simple: an invitation. But what does that look like?

How to Invite Someone to Church

You don’t have to be a pastor or Bible scholar to make an impact. All it takes is a willing heart.

Here are a few practical ways to invite someone to church:

  • Notice new neighbors in your community—welcome them with a card and an invite.

  • Strike up a conversation with the parent sitting next to you at your kids’s sports practice or in the pickup line.

  • Mention your church in everyday conversation: “Hey, I go to Lowcountry Community Church in Bluffton. You’d love the community there.”

Try simple phrases like:

  • “We’ve got an awesome kids’ ministry—would you want to come check it out?”

  • “I’m heading to church Sunday. Want to join me? We could grab lunch after.”

  • “It’s super casual, and the messages are really down to earth.”
